| Sunday 15th October 2006 (Old 2hr) 1HR THUNDER LEAGUE Headline - 'Old Boys take the lead after 20 minutes' Pole - Total Chaos In the 10 minutes practice, Mushrooms were the quickest team. Sean Sands from team Total Chaos was quick off of the starting line. But Nick Rodgers from Mushrooms flew by him on the first lap. Daniel Powley from Old Boys got up to 2nd from 4th in a matter of minutes. He is standing in for the Old Boys today. Boomerang came in before even doing one lap, to change drivers. Terrible Twos Tony went off down the bottom end of the track. I bet he got a face full of mud as a result from it. 2 minutes have gone. 1st place team Mushrooms and 2nd place team Old Boys who are 0.43 of a second behind number one spot have both done 3 laps. Daniel has set the new fastest lap of 42.67 done on lap 10. 20 minutes gone. It has flown by. Old Boys have pinched the lead from under Mushrooms nose. Old Boys are currently 14.60 seconds ahead of 2nd place. Boomerang have changed their kart because they felt theirs was slow compared to the others. They have now moseyed their way up to 3rd. 7 more minutes have passed, which takes us up to 27 minutes gone. Team Terrible Twos are in the pits with a problem - they have somehow gained a puncture! This loses them some time and they are now a lap and 26.15 seconds behind 6th place team Thunderbolt + Lightfoot. Ted from Old Boys gets a bit too excited about the fact that he is leading and he goes off on to the grass, losing him a good couple of seconds. This gives Mushrooms a bit of a chance to catch up. After 40 minutes, Jed from Total Chaos gets himself wedged in the pit lane and unable to move. He isn't angry about the fact he got stuck though as he is laughing his head off. He thinks it was hilarious! At least someone sees the funny side to racing. The track is currently bone dry. It has not rained yet. The sky overhead is very grey and dull. The only part of the track that is wet is the entrance to the pit lane where when Jed got wedged in there it knocked a load of water out. There is 15 minutes of the race left. Old Boys are still leading. Mushrooms are still in 2nd, 7.43 seconds behind, which is a lot nearer than they were earlier. So can Old Boys maintain the lead? Wait and see! Results 1. Old Boys |
