1HR THUNDER LEAGUE

Winter Series - Race 1

Pole - Rookies
2nd - C.B.Posties
3rd - T.O.K.A

For race 1 of the winter 1hr thunder league series we have 7 teams competing. They are all running as one league rather than A + B leagues as there are only 7 of them and you can't divide it fairly between 7 teams.

We are trying out a new fleet of the 270cc thunder karts this morning. However it is only a one off just for today because by next month they will be back to the old ones.

Team 5, Kolumbian Karthel were the fastest team in the 10 minutes practice time.

Whacky Racers Ollie and Tyco's Lloyd crashed together down the bottom end of the track. I think what happened was Lloyd pushed up the inside of Ollie, trying to overtake him and they must have touched a bit and both gone off. This incident lost them both precious times.

Rookie's driver David shot off in to the lead from his pole position starting place.
DnD Racing have moved up the field from 7th, (right at the back) to 2nd, 1.85 seconds behind 1st place.

6 minutes have gone. Kolumbian Karthel had a bit of an off and dropped from 3rd to 6th. He was seen throwing his hands up in the air in disgust and then banging them on the steering wheel in frustration!

Whacky Racers Ollie got the fastest lap of 44.90 done on lap 8.

Then on lap 19, later on, Kolumbian Karthel beat it with a flying 44.10.

18 minutes of the race left. Kolumbian Karthel are leading. They have managed to mosey higher up the field despite their earlier loss. They have gained quite a big lead, 14.54 seconds ahead of 2nd place, team Whacky Racers.

Now with only 13 minutes left. Rookies are now down to 3rd, with T.O.K.A behind them in 4th. Tyco have managed to gain a couple of places and get up to 5th.

DnD Racing have dropped to 6th. C.B.Posties are holding out in last place, 8th. Phil Read has found a new guy to race with him for this series, Mr John Glover. He hasn't been doing it for very long but he is enjoying it. So keep up the good work!

I think there were mixed feelings about the new karts but it doesn't matter as it was only for today!
