| Sunday 17th June 2007 1HR THUNDER LEAGUE Pole - Anglo-Italian Racing In the 10 minutes practice, Thomas Cooks Tom Arnold was the fastest out there. His fastest lap was 43.03. The race started at 10am. On the first two laps, Thomas Cook came in and two early pit stops. They must be trying out a new tactic. In theory it should pay off later on, nearing the end of the race. Jed from team Total Chaos is away on holiday somewhere nice and hot no doubt for today's race so he has stand in driver Daniel Powley racing in his place with his normal team mate, Sean Sands. Anyway getting back to the race, Daniel is leading. He came up from 5th place. 5 minutes have passed and Daniel has a 4.66 second lead over 2nd place. This is quite a big lead because in this league there is normally only 0. 66 of a second between them 7 minutes have now gone by. Terrible Twos Tony is doing well. He is up in 2nd place from starting in 8th place. On lap 7, Tom got the fastest lap of 42.36. 3 minutes later at the 10 minute mark, Tony from Terrible Twos is in the pits with a wobbly kart! He is given another kart. One of the wheel rims had snapped from the pressure of the track that they are running this morning. Terrible Twos were also added a lap back on to out them back in their right position. Bluff + Blunders stand in driver keeps hitting the bollards going down the back straight. It looks like he has managed to dig some grass up as well! 32 minutes have now passed. Team Boomerang have acquired a puncture! They are given a new kart and are now back in the race. Merv who was driving the kart at the time seems to be a bit unlucky at the moment! There are now 20 minutes left to run. Thomas Cook are in 1st place. Total Chaos are in 2nd place, 1.52 seconds behind. So it's very close. Can Total Chaos pinch the lead? On lap 49, Thomas Cook got the new fastest lap of 42.30. 1 minute to go. Large from Little + Large came in to the pits. One of the wheel rims had snapped, like Terrible Twos did earlier. Anyway its all good fun, but we will definitely change the circuit for next month!
