| Sunday 3rd June 2007 1HR THUNDER LEAGUE Round 2 Grid Positions: During the 10 minutes practice, Nick from Rapscallions was the fastest one out there. He was the only one to be lapping in the 42 seconds. His fastest practice lap was 42.49. The race started at dead on 10am. Rapscallions Nick got off to a flying start from his pole position starting place. I am surprised that he is doing so well because he got badly sunburnt whilst he was racing yesterday. All he has done this morning is moan because it is sore! T.O.K.A's Big Dave is up one place, in to 2nd, 4.86 seconds behind 1st place Nick. C.B.Posties Phil is down to 3rd. Rookies David is holding his 4th place starting position. This morning, David is doing a 1hr solo as his team-mate is on holiday and he couldn't find a replacement driver. 4 minutes have gone. Rapscallions come in to do an early driver change. Rookies David follows them in, also to do an early pit stop. However David has to get out of the kart, hop over low bollards, get the ball from his bucket and hop back over the low bollards and back in to the kart. He is going to be tired for sure when the 1hr is up! A lot of the teams seem to be trying out new team tactics this morning. 7 minutes of the race have now passed. Team Daniel/Micheal are leading. T.O.K.A are still holding 2nd place. The clock says that 11 minutes have passed. All the teams have now done their first pit stop. Amazingly all of the 7 teams are on the leading lap. This means that none of the top teams have lapped the backmarkers. Still all of the teams are close together and battling for positions. 1 minute later. Kolumbian Karthel have taken the lead and they are 4.53 seconds ahead. New Boy Micheal Blanks is holding 3rd place well. He is 0.62 of a second behind 2nd
place. 16 minutes of the race have now passed. Kolumbian Karthel have just come in to the pits with a problem. They have now dropped down to 8th place. On lap 22, Rapscallions Nick got the fastest lap of 41.90. At the 36-minute mark this is how the leaderboard looks: Rapscallions are back in 1st place. Kolumbian Karthel had a lap added back on for their
problem earlier and are now up to 2nd place, 6.76 seconds behind. Whacky Racers are in
3rd, 11.38 seconds behind. In 4th is team T.O.K.A, 4.20 seconds behind. In 5th place we
have Daniel/Micheal, 7.31 seconds behind. 6th place is Rookies David, 4.96 seconds behind.
Finally in 7th place we have C.B.Posties, 1 lap and 35.56 seconds behind 6th place. A little while has passed and there is only 4 minutes of the race left now. The first 6 teams are still all on the same lead lap which is great news. They are also very close together so one little mistake could lose them some positions. Results |
