| Sunday 15th July 2007 1HR THUNDER LEAGUE Pole - Total Chaos 2nd - Boomerang 3rd - Little + Large 4th - Terrible Twos 5th - Anglo-Italian Racing 6th - Bluff + Blunders 7th - Thomas Cook 8th - Shake N Bake Starting off as always with 10 minutes practice at 9.50am. During this 10 minutes practice, Merv from team Boomerang was the fastest one out there. His fastest lap was 46.25. The 1hr race started at dead on 10am. Total Chaos's Jed got off to a good start. However he has Stu from team Boomerang right up his back bumper. Little from team Little + Large is holding 3rd place which is where they started. On lap 2, Darren from Anglo-Italian Racing moved up in to 3rd place from starting back in 5th place. Thomas Cook have already done two driver changes and at the minute they are in 7th place. 4 minutes have passed. Stu from Boomerang has just dropped all the way down to 6th place. He must have made a mistake somewhere. Tony from team Terrible Twos crashed in to the tyres and dropped down to 7th place. On lap 8, Stu got the fastest lap of 45.74. He probably got the quickest lap because he is trying his best to get back up the top end of the field. 20 minutes have now passed. Boomerang are in 1st place. Total Chaos are in 2nd place, 1.82 seconds behind. Thomas Cook are in 3rd place, 0.30 of a second behind. 5 minutes later. Terrible Twos Tony has lost a wheel. He now only has 3 wheels on his wagon! He must have hit the tyres or something because wheels don't just fall off by themselves! So that was obviously a major driver error from Tony - Terrible Twos. One guy from team Bluff + Blunders is currently waiting in the pit lane for his team mate to come in so he can go out for his ten minute stint. Just as his team mate pulls in to the pits the other guy realises he doesn't have a ball in his hand. He has to run back to his bucket and grab one. By now his team mate has been waiting to get out of the kart and change drivers for about 15 seconds which is quite a bit of time wasted when your racing for positions. So obviously this faffing about loses them a bit of valuable time! A little while later, Darren from Anglo-Italian Racing somehow missed the pit lane, so he spun himself round in the middle of the track and then managed to get in the pits! At the moment the top 4 teams are lapping in the 45 seconds. The other 4 are in the 46 and 47 seconds. 41 minutes have now passed. Thomas Cook are leading. Their early pit stops seemed to have helped them along the way. They currently have a 4.48 second lead over the team in 2nd place. 2 teams have just changed drivers and somehow the drivers managed to miss the ball bucket and their balls rolled along the track. So they had to come in on the next lap to put them in properly! Only about 2 minutes to go. Tony from Terrible Twos is back in the pit lane with a problem. Apparently his kart has no oomph, no go in it. But I reckon that it is just the driver pressing the brake instead of using the accelerator! :') Results |
