1HR THUNDER LEAGUE

Pole - CB Posties
2nd - Whacky Racers
3rd - Tyco

This morning we woke to rain, and a lot of it! The track is soaked. Today's race should be great fun!

We started off with 10 minutes practice at 9.50am.

Wayne from team Whacky Racers is practising being a ballerina. He has spun on nearly every corner so far!

T.O.K.A were the fastest team in the practice laps. Their fastest lap was 58.37
Phil from CB Posties got off to a good start. Nigel from team Tyco tried to dart up the outside of Phil but he didn't quite manage it.

T.O.K.A's Big Dave has gained one place, up to 3rd from starting in 4th.

Not Bothered! - New team, a father and son team, Gary and Daniel Walker. They normally come on our open races in the 270cc, once a month on a Thursday but they have decided to give the league a go now. So good luck to them! Anyway on lap one, they come in to do an early pit stop, using their own special team tactics.

Lap 2, Nigel from Tyco takes the lead. But going down the straight he loses it! He takes the straight on the inside line, hits a new patch of tarmac, slides on it, hits the mud and a puddle and then he shoots off on to the grass, spinning around as he goes. This is where he sits for a little while, whilst he waits for help from a marshall. His team mate Lloyd Geddes didn't look too happy when he saw what had happened.

Phil has now dropped to 5th. Tyco's Nigel to 7th.

So T.O.K.A's Big Dave takes the lead on lap 3.

Richard from team Rookies is up in to 2nd from starting in 5th, 2.71 seconds behind 1st.
DnD Racing's Kevin is up to 3rd from starting in 6th. Him and Richard are having a battle, but it might all end in tears. Anyway Kevin gets by, to take 2nd place.

T.O.K.A's Big Dave has the current fastest lap of 56.64 done on lap 4.

Team Not Bothered! Seem to be doing a few early pit stops and then they will have to be doing longer stints towards the end of the race.

T.O.K.A and Not Bothered! Have a spin together coming around the pit lane corner. Luckily this did not lose T.O.K.A 1st place; if it had of done, Big Dave would have been gutted and not best pleased!

14 minutes have passed. Kolumbian Karthel are creeping up the field to 3rd from starting in 7th.

The fastest laps are swapping on nearly every other lap between team Rookies and team T.O.K.A.

T.O.K.A and Rookies are very close together. So when they do their pit stops they have to try and do them carefully. I have been watching them and T.O.K.A have always managed to change drivers before Rookies do. However on the last driver change, ball number 5, Little Dave went round 2 more laps after his dad had held the pit board out. This meant that Rookies managed to change drivers before T.O.K.A did. But luckily Big Dave got out of the pit lane before Rookies came round again. So they still have the lead. Phew! I thought they were going to lose it then.

Only 3 minutes to go. T.O.K.A are still leading. Rookies are still in 2nd, 15.96 seconds behind 1st. Kolumbian Karthel are in 3rd, 27.25 seconds behind 2nd place.

New fastest lap by T.O.K.A, with a 54.61 done on lap 61.

Then on lap 62 Rookies managed to get the exact same lap time. Good battle guys.
