| Sunday 20 April 2008 1hr Thunder League Below is where the teams will be starting the race: Pole – Thomas Cook 2nd – Old Workhouse 3rd – Little + Large 4th – Shake N Bake 5th – Lloyd + John 6th – Anglo-Italian Racing 7th – Boomerang 8th – Terrible Twos 9th – Sparkies During the ten minutes practice, Boomerang was the fastest team and they had the fastest time of 1.08.06. This morning it is starting off to be a wet race, the track is soaked. Whether it will dry out later we will have to wait and see. Tom from Thomas Cook got off to a good start, but he came in on the first lap to do a driver change, and then they swapped again on lap 2. SO that’s two pit stops they have done already. Boomerang’s Stu takes the lead; he has come all the way up from 7th place in to 1st on lap 1. 5 minutes have now gone, Terrible Twos and Little + Large are in to do an early driver change. It seems that they are trying out new tactics for the last race of the winter series, today. On lap 5, Thomas Cook got a new fastest lap 1.06.17. 8 minutes in to the race and Old Workhouse are in 9th place but they have already done a driver change so they could move up a couple of places later on if they drive well. 12 minutes have passed. Boomerangs are still leading. On lap 13, unlucky for some, Tom from Thomas Cook overtook Boomerangs’ Pete for 1st place. Tom is now 3.05 seconds ahead of 2nd place. Also on lap 13, Thomas Cook got a new fastest lap of 1.04.93. Now at the 20 minute mark and Boomerang have taken the lead. But Thomas Cook have already done 3 pit stops, which leaves them just two to do. Terrible Twos are up in 3rd place from starting way down in 8th place. 4 minutes later at the 24 minute mark, and on lap 21, Thomas Cooks’ Charlie got back in to 1st place, 3.58 seconds ahead. Half an hour of the race has now gone, Shake N Bake are up to 3rd place. Terrible Twos are down to 4th, 14.28 seconds behind. Only 12 minutes to go now. Thomas Cook are still leading, 6.36 seconds ahead. Sparkies are up in to 5th place. Anglo-Italian Racing are holding 6th place, 6.72 seconds behind. Lloyd + John are 7th. Little + Large in 8th. Old Workhouse are still bringing up the rear in 9th place, a.k.a last place. Anyway Thomas Cook take the chequered flag with a 10.13 second lead.
