| Friday 12th May 2006 Kids 30 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 of 2 Starting on - Pole = Daniel Bowman 2nd = Nick Manias 3rd = Matt Spragg Tonight we have a total of 10 kids. One of the kids, Smiffy is ill and therefore he can't come and play tonight. Best mates Nick. M and Mike. K got off to a fast and smooth start. On lap 4, Mike. K takes the lead from Nick but Nick is still right behind him! 5 minutes have passed and Sean Haller takes the lead, with Daniel Powley a.k.a Dan the Man in 2nd. Mike is in 3rd and battling hard to stay there because 4th place Chris Woods is trying his best to get by. We have a new kid racer in the midst today. Like many of the other kids he started off with us in our kid's klub. He is called Ashley Hornigold. In the race at the moment he is going well and is currently 9th out of 10 kids. This is the first time he has been in his kart so he arrived extra early this evening to get in some practice laps. He is probably a bit nervous on the inside but on the outside he looks as cool as a cucumber! 10 minutes have passed and Bad Lad Lee is kicking up some dirt out there. Fastest lap by Daniel Powley with a 42.50 on lap 9. Best mates Daniel and Sean Haller are having a right old laugh. They are swapping first and second positions on nearly every lap. Later on, nearer the end of the race, Daniel's chain flew off. This minor setback drops him from 2nd to 5th. 25 minutes have gone and Chris Woods is out on the grass. I think he had chain problems too. This dropped him from 2nd to 7th. New fastest lap by Sean with a 42.45 on lap 20. Sean is currently 28.75 seconds ahead of 2nd place Mike Keeley. Mike has done well in
this race to keep up there with the best of them. Chris Woods was away to a swift start this time. When you start on 1st, 2nd or 3rd it is so much easier to get a better head start. Chris was telling me earlier that his kart was slow off the start line but it has proved him wrong this time! Following him is new racer Ashley and he is 2.80 seconds behind Chris. 5 minutes have gone, Daniel and Sean have crept up to 2nd and 3rd, dropping Ashley to 4th. 8 minutes have gone and something's wrong with Mike's kart. He goes off in to the square to have a proper look. Later i learnt that it was something to do with sprocket, chain and clutch trouble. Daniel and Chris are having a good battle for 1st and 2nd places. Dan is just 0.13 seconds behind Chris who is currently leading but for how long?! 15 minutes to go, Dan takes the lead but its still close. Plus Dan and Chris are stuck behind slow moving vehicles - the back markers who are now being lapped by them two. Fastest lap by Daniel with a 42.18 on lap 26. Sean has now taken 2nd place with Chris now in 3rd. Nick. M is currently 4th and 18.03
seconds behind Chris. Bad Lad Lee has finished 5th in both his races which isn't bad. Jake
Futter has finished 7th in both his races. He missed the first round because there was a
new addition to the family and plus he had been naughty so he wouldn't have been able to
come anyway! |
