| Friday 12th May 2006 Adults 45 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 of 2 20 adults taking part tonight and with 10 kids included (but not on the track at the same time) that gives us a grand total of 30 - what a great result! Starting on - The lights turn to green and off they go! On the 2nd corner, leading on to the straight there was a 2-kart pile up involving Nigel Cook and Keith Woods. Both of them got away again but they are now not going well. Nigel's kart is all dented. Keith is having problems with his. He is now in the pits. New adult racer Fred Hornigold (father of kid racer Ashley) is out there giving it a go. Never in his life has he driven anything as fast as this! 13 minutes have passed; T.S.R's Simon is in the lead. He has a balloon tied to him - (which could prove to be dangerous) and a 'just married' sticker on his kart as this is the last race he will be doing before he gets married. He also got a lapful of confetti when he was sitting on the starting grid waiting to do 2 warm up laps. The confetti was courtesy of race adjudicators Shelly and Sally. Fastest lap by Simon from T.S.R with a 42.79 on lap 11. He is the only one to be getting down to the 42 seconds. Well done Simon! Colin from A.K.C has the 2nd fastest lap time of the race - 43.07. 23 minutes have passed and A.K.C's Colin has moved up to 2nd. This proceeded in dropping Dave Misfits to 3rd. Apparently there was a bit of contact between them two during the duration of this race. Nigel's earlier incident caused him to need some new chains, sprockets and clutches. He
didn't have any spares with him so he won't be racing in the next race tonight. Fastest lap by Simon TSR with a 43.15 on lap 17. This was a slower lap time than what he did in the first race. So far in this 2nd race no one has got down to the 42 seconds. The majority of them are in the 43 and 44 seconds. Woods is still in 1st, with Charlie in 2nd and A.K.C Colin in 3rd. J.H.Racing is currently in 4th. He has done well in this race. But it always helps when you start at the front end of the grid. Mossy got knocked out of the race, again! Someone out there has got it in for him. Lets hope it doesn't stop him from racing. But before he comes to next month's race he has some fixing to do! His back metal bumper is totally bent. But his chassis is also cracked where one of his engine mounts is so that means he could need a whole new chassis! (Or a kart!) 2 minutes to go, Benny got a black flag as he was holding the leading karts up and not
letting them by. But he didn't come in for the black flag. |
