| Friday 9th June 2006 Adults 45 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 of 2 We have 15 adults competing tonight. That gives us a total of 24 people racing (including the kids). Some of the adults have missed this race and gone to watch the grand prix. Plus some are on holiday. First place starter, Neil Gardner got away to a fast start. He is back racing in his Old Faithful - number 71. Lets hope it brings him luck tonight. 3rd place starter Nick Raps is up to 2nd. He then takes the lead from Neil after 3
minutes. 8 minutes have gone and J.H.Racing a.k.a John Hawkins - has finished fixing his kart and is now about to get out there and join the already underway race. 12 minutes have gone; Nick has dropped to 12th. Leaving Neil to take the lead, again! I think that Nick spun out (of his accord, no one pushed him off). Now 16 minutes have passed us and Steve Aldridge from Road Runner has taken the lead. He also has the fastest lap of 35.76 on lap 9. Him and Dave Marshall are the only two to be lapping in the 35 seconds. Nick never got to finish the race. He retired early with kart trouble. Results Pole - Nick Nick got away to a fast start. He is a lot lighter than the other drivers so even with his weight on he should still fly! Andy Bell has sped up to 2nd. J.H.Racing is in 3rd and right behind Andy. So if Andy makes a mistake he could be going down. TSR's Simon Lockwood and Dave Marshall are right at the back. They are way behind the other racers. Maybe they had a coming together. But if they did i didn't see it! Steve Futter and Colin are having some good battles for 5th and 6th places. Nigel, Dave and Neil had a major pile up on one of the fast and twisty corners. Neil has got a dented front bumper. Dave's kart appears to be fine. Nigel's kart is the worst off - the stub axles on it are bent. Keith Woods has made his way up to 3rd, putting Andy down to 4th. Fastest lap by Steve from Road Runner with a 35.54 on lap 13. Dave and Colin are battling for 5th and 6th places. Lets hope they don't get too close and end up spitting their dummies out like last time. Dave is bound to be quicker than Colin is so he should get by easily without pushing Colin off. Dave Marshall and Steve Aldridge are again the only two to be lapping in the 35 seconds. Results 1 - R/R Steve |
