| Friday 7th April 2006 Kids 30 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 of 2 Pole - Daniel Bowman These starting positions were from last months race results. Daniel Bowman got away to a quick start. But around one of the corners, on the first lap, him and Michael Keeley had a coming together which left them stranded together for a couple of minutes. This also dropped them to the back of the field. Daniel had the right of way, the racing line, but Michael Keeley was the one that caused the incident because he tried to go up the inside when there was no room to get through. We are hoping this hasn't knocked Daniel's confidence because he is a very timid person, and he hasn't been racing for long, so he is still getting used to it. We have 9 kids racing in total tonight and 17 adults (who are racing separately) giving us a grand total of 24 people. Smiffy takes the lead after Daniel and Michael's incident. He has Dan the Man, Sean, Lee and Chris behind him and all of them are just a 0.0's of a second behind him. So it is very close, which is good! Lee and Sean just had a pile up. Apparently Chris Woods had something to do with that. You can tell that Sean isn't happy because he isn't trying his hardest now. Best mates Nick and Michael are having their own little battle, fighting for 5th and 6th places. Dan the Man is still in 1st, Chris Woods in 2nd and Smiffy in 3rd. Sean, Lee, Michael and Daniel Bowman are all trying their hardest to catch up after their little incidents. Michael Keeley has the fastest lap of 46.80 on lap 11. The other kids are lapping in low 47's and high 48's. Daniel Bowman is currently 3 laps behind the leader (Dan the Man) but he is fighting hard and hopefully he will catch up and make up some of that lost time. Race 2 0f 2 Pole - Daniel Bowman These starting positions are from the race they had earlier tonight - reversed. So Daniel Bowman actually finished last in the race earlier so that is why he is starting first in this one. Again, Daniel Bowman got off to a good, smooth and fast start. At the minute he is doing very well to hold it there. Then Mike Keeley has to join in and start another tussle with Daniel, lets hope Daniel can keep focused and hold it there. Fastest lap by Michael Keeley with a 46.62 on lap 32. He is probably only getting these fastest laps because he is still 15kg underweight. Something will be done about that in next month's race. Smiffy didn't get the chance to finish the race because he was involved in an incident, which ended up in him hurting his wrist and retiring from the race early. Dan the Man is yet again in first, with Sean 3.15 seconds behind him and Chris Woods in 3rd, only 0.40 behind Sean, that is close. If Sean makes one mistake Chris could take 2nd place from him. Bad Lad Lee is holding out there well in 4th place, which is where he finished in the race earlier this evening. After the race had finished, Lee actually bent his axle because he went too fast out of the pit lane and clipped the tyres we have there which proceeded in him bending his axle. So that means his kart is out of action for Wed 12th April's ProKart practice night. Results 1 Dan The Man |
