| Friday 2nd December 2005 1HR ProKart Solo Race Starting on pole for the adult's league was Team T.S.R's Simon Lockwood. On pole for the kids league was Bad Lad - Lee Ashurst. This is in a reversed grid from the end of last months solo race. 15 people entered tonight's race. This consisted of 6 kids and 9 adults. The race got off to a swift start. The track is currently slippery so its grip and then no grip! Otherwise known as slippery in places. On lap one Rusty came in to contact with some others which resulted in him breaking one of his track rods. This proved difficult trying to get it back to the mechanic square as he had to hold on to the track rod whilst trying to steer the kart. And then he had all the other drivers flying by him. Not many of them paying attention to the yellow flag and flashing lights! Coming out of the hairpin a couple of people are spinning about and ending up on the grass! Most of the drivers are racing on wet Veloce tyres, which i should think is a wise choice. Anyone out there on slicks must be finding it very hard! 7 minutes after the race has started and Rusty is back out on the track in his mate Docky's kart which is on slick tyres. His mate isn't racing because he is at his works due. As winter is now on its way we have decided to do just one hour race instead of 2 x 45 minute races. Rusty is currently 7 laps down on the leader - kids racer Dan. That is from all that time he spent in the Mechanics Square. Bad Lad Lee is managing to do well. In last month's race he hardly got started. This
was due to some pullcord and engine problems. He is currently holding out in 5th place
overall. T.S.R's new driver Simon Lockwood is doing good. He hasn't raced for a long time now and he is slowly getting back in to it. Well, saying that he was getting back in to it until he decided to take a ride out on to the grass coming off the hairpin! Anyway he causes the pit ladies to give him a cheer as he comes by the pits because he got round the hairpin without spinning off on to the grass. Mossys bumper was fixed especially for todays race but with 16 minutes to go it was all bent out of shape again. In the end Mr Moss kicked it off in sheer frustration somewhere on the track edge. Rusty has now given up and is spectating. Fastest lap by Chris Woods with a 43.27 on lap 70. Colin is up the top by himself without best mate Charlie as Charlie spent the first half of the race at the back of the field due to some earlier crashes! But by the end of the race he was up there with the best. Chris Harfields performance has improved spectacularly! He is currently up the top half
of the field with the more experienced prokart racers. |
