| Friday 20th May 2005 ProKart 2hr Endurance Race During the 15 minutes qualifying the weather took a turn for the worse! It started to rain! Now many of the drivers are debating about whether to put wets on or not. But they have to start the race on the tyres they qualified on - many of these being slicks. Starting
on pole was Team T.S.R, on 2nd was Willy Wonka and on 3rd was Boys Toys. Team T.S.R's Steve Aldridge gets off to a smooth start, but Willy Wonka's Daniel is right up his back bumper. Tortoise Racing spun going around one of the corners causing David from Parkwalk Racing to anchor up and swerve to avoid hitting him. David Abraham's from team Parkwalk Racing has decided to be brave and to compete in tonight's race. For the last prokart race he chickened out and came up with the excuse that he had a business meeting, but really he was just scared of losing again! Though saying all that he can be a very good driver when he wants to be! 15 minutes in to the race and its pouring! There are not many karts left out on the track, because everyone is coming in to change over to wet tyres! 18 minutes gone and there is only one kart left out on the track - Road Runners Tom Bullman. This guy absolutely loves the wet. In fact he probably did a special rain dance and made it rain! 23 minutes passed and A.K.C and Willy Wonka are both in the pits with engine trouble. And now its raining the karts are going to play up. Now 51 minutes have gone and the rain has finally eased, but has not totally stopped. I think by now everyone is racing on wet tyres, good choice! Team Road Runner are driving well. They are now currently in 4th place. Team T.S.R are flying! They have the fastest lap of 41.63. Results - top 3 |
