| Friday 5th October 2007 Kids 30 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 of 2 Below are the grid positions where the kids are starting for Race 1: Pole - Ben Cook 9 kids competing in Race 1. The start of the race was delayed by about 7 minutes because Spraggy had to go off in to the paddock to sort his tyre out. Apparently one of his tyres was rubbing on something which in turn was making it smoke badly. After lap 1, Spraggy was in 1st place from starting in 7th position. On lap 2, Ben Cook was in the tyres. It was a driver error because he took his eyes off of the road to look behind him. A couple of minutes, later Ben was back on the track, in last place, 3 laps down. 8 minutes have gone. Spraggy is still in 1st place. Daniel Powley is 2nd. Sean Haller
is 3rd. Now 15 minutes have gone. Smithy has moved up in to 3rd. Sean has dropped down to 4th. 1st and 2nd places remain the same. 2 minutes later at the 17 minute mark, and Spraggy has done another new fastest lap of 39.40 done on lap 26. A little while has passed and now there are only 9 minutes of the race left. There is currently 0.17 of a second between 1st and 2nd places. Ben is still holding 9th place, 2 laps behind. In 8th is Tom Blackmore, 1 lap and 1.21 seconds behind. Dan Zelos is in 7th, 21 seconds behind. The top 3 drivers are lapping in the 39 seconds. 4th-6th are in the 40 seconds. And 7th-9th are in the 41-42 seconds. 1 minute to go. Daniel Powley has just overtaken Spraggy. There is a lot of cheering and shouting coming from the spectators. So Spraggy is now down to 2nd, 0.39 of a second behind. Sam Smith is in 3rd, four and a half seconds behind. Now just seconds to go, Spraggy has just got back in 1st place. Dan is now back down to 2nd. Spraggy took the chequered flag and he won the race by 1.01 seconds. Results for Race 1 ……………………………………………………………………………….......................... Race 2 of 2 Grid positions below are in a reversed order from race 1, earlier: Pole - Ben Cook Dan Zelos was due to start the race but in the warm up laps something went wrong, which damaged his kart and meant that he couldn't start Race 2. On lap 1, Nathan is in to 1st. Ben Cook is down to 2nd. Daniel Bowman is still holding his 3rd place starting position. On lap 2 it all changes again. Daniel Powley is up to 1st place from starting in 7th. Smithy is up to 2nd from 6th. Spraggy is in to 3rd from 8th place. Ben Cook has dropped down to 6th. Nathan down to 4th. Bowman is lower down in 5th. Daniel Powley has done the fastest lap so far on lap 4 with a 39.36. On lap 5, he gets a 39.19. Then finally on lap 7 he puts in a flying laptime of 39.07. As you can see there were a lot of changes happening in the first 5 minutes. On lap 12, Daniel Powley got another new fastest lap of 39.04. 10 minutes have gone and things have settled down a bit. Daniel Powley is 1st. Matt is 2nd. Sam is 3rd. 4th is Nathan Read. 5th is Sean. 6th is Bowman. 2nd place Smithy and 3rd place Spraggy have swapped places. On lap 23, Daniel got it down in to the 38 seconds with a 38.98. 20 minutes have now passed. There has been no change in the top 3 or 4th, 5th, and 6th positions. Time has passed and there is only 5 minutes to go. Daniel Powley still in 1st place.
