Tonight we have a total of 8 kids competing.

3 newcomers have also joined us tonight.

David and Jamie Nelson have to share a kart so at the moment I think it is David out there in race one. Jamie is doing the second race.

Shane Willis who is racing under the name G.A.S is also new to this ProKart malarkey. But he is a fast driver when he wants to be! G.A.S stands for Gary and Shane. Gary is his dad and he will be racing in the adult's races later on tonight.

Anyway getting back to the race. Matt Spragg shot up in to 1st from starting in 3rd after having done just two laps. At the moment he seems to be going well.

Daniel Powley has got up to 2nd from starting at the back. He started at the back with his friend Sean who is now up there too in 3rd place.

Other hot shot Sam Smith is up to 4th.

On lap 4, Sam Smith put in a flying lap of 42.07.

Then on lap 9, Daniel Powley matched Sam's fastest lap of 42.07.

The top 4 are very close! One mistake from any of them and it could cost them dearly.
7 minutes have passed. David is in the pits. He then goes out on to the square to fix it.
Daniel Powley has now taken the lead from Spraggy.

A little while later, Daniel Bowman and Daniel Powley had a bit of a tussle. Daniel Powley nudged Bowman off on to the dirt and grass going down the straight. There must be something bad about the name Daniel.

15 minutes have passed. The top 4 are still very close together. They have been swapping places and positions amongst themselves.

Daniel Powley is in 1st place still. Spraggy is in 2nd, 0.19 of a second behind. Sean Haller is in 3rd, 0.30 of a second behind. Sam Smith is still holding 4th place, 0.34 of a second behind.

17 minutes have passed. David has rejoined the race after spending about ten minutes fixing it.

Ashley Hornigold is back racing with us this month. He missed last months, as he was away abroad on holiday. Lucky thing! He is currently in 5th place, 1 lap and so many seconds behind 4th place.

In 6th place is Shane Willis and he is 18.90 seconds behind 5th. Daniel Bowman is in 7th, 0.42 of a second behind. So one mistake from Shane and Daniel could pinch 6th place from him. In 8th we have David, 11 laps behind 7th place due to his kart problems earlier.

22 minutes have sped by. Only 8 minutes of the race left. The top 4 are being held up by the backmarkers at the moment. So this means that they have to have their wits about them in order to keep their positions. At times this is proving to be a difficult task to accomplish!

Anyway during this difficult time Sam Smith has whizzed up in to 1st from 4th. Spraggy is still holding out in 2nd place. Sean has come up to 3rd and Daniel Powley down to 4th.
On the next lap it all changes again! Spraggy has overtaken Sam for 1st place. So Sam is now down to 2nd. Daniel has come up to 3rd and Sean is back down to 4th.

4 minutes later at the 26 minute mark Sam is back up to 1st. Daniel is up in to 2nd. Having dropped Spraggy down to 3rd. And this leaves Sean still in 4th.

Only 1 and a half minutes to go. Will the positions change again?

For this race they are starting in a reversed grid:

On lap one, Spraggy had a bit of an off which involved new boy Shane. But no karts were injured during this off so they only lost a little bit of time and they were back on the track in no time whatsoever! It won't take them long to get back up to where the others are.

Sean, Daniel Powley and Sam are up to the top of the grid already after having only done a few laps.

On lap 4, Daniel Powley got the fastest lap of 42.07. That is the same fastest lap as what him and Sam done in race one. They are consistent drivers and that is what we like to see!
At the minute there is not really much happening in this race, race number 2 for the kids.

Bowman is in 5th. Ashley Hornigold is behind him in 6th place, 2.69 seconds behind.

In 7th place is Shane, 12.13 seconds behind but he has made up a lot of time considering Spraggy involved him in his little off at the start of the race.

In 8th is Jamie, 4 laps and so many seconds behind. As the race wears on he is getting quicker which must also mean that his confidence to go faster is building up.

15 minutes have now passed.

Spraggy has got up to 4th and he has made a lot of time up. Him and his kart seem to be going very well tonight.

Bowman is doing better in this race as he is currently in 5th place.

Now 20 minutes have gone by.

Sean Haller has taken the lead. Daniel Powley is in 2nd, 0.15 of a second behind. In 3rd is Sam Smith, 3.52 seconds behind. Trailing 10 seconds behind in 4th is Spraggy. His arms must be aching as he is losing time now and dropping more seconds behind.

No one has come close to beating the fastest lap in this race.
