Adults 45 minute solo ProKart Race

Race 1

Pole - Big John
2nd - Charlie Cook
3rd - Karlos

We have a total of 15 adults racing tonight. A very good turnout. This gives us a grand total of 23 drivers all together, including the 8 kids.

Charlie Cook got off to a fast start from starting in pole position. He managed to get a huge lead because Asbos Andy hit Karlos off and this caused a major pile up, on lap one!
So Karlos has dropped from getting up in to 2nd place all the way down to 8th.

After a few laps, Docky has taken 1st place. He has got up the top there quickly from starting somewhere at the back end.

Richard Clouting has got up to 2nd place. He is currently 6.67 seconds behind 1st place Docky.

Docky now has a big lead over the others and he is pulling away from them on nearly every lap!

On lap 11, Docky got the fastest lap of 42.32.

10 minutes have passed.

2nd place Richard Clouting spun which lost him 2nd place and he is now way down in 9th place.

At roughly the same time Charlie Haller comes in to the pits. I think he has finished for tonight because he has switched his engines off and is walking away from his kart. I think his back might be giving him a bit of gyp! But he is a builder so he is doing strenuous stuff all day long, which probably makes his back hurt too.

We have 2 new drivers with us tonight competing in the adult's races. Gary Willis and Paul Nelson.

Somehow Andy a.k.a Asbos is in the tyres down the bottom end of the track. How he got in there I don't know. It looks like he has done a bit of damage though because his pram cover is hanging off!

By now all the hot shots are up the top end of the field.

Colin Powley is up to 5th from starting right at the back.

On lap 15, Docky got a new fastest lap of 42.26.

Keith Woods and Steve Aldridge are having a tough battle for 3rd and 4th places.

18 minutes have gone.

Dave Marshall has wormed his way up to 3rd, dropping Aldridge down to 4th.

22 minutes have now gone by. Simon Craig is now in 9th place and doing well even though he had a bad start earlier on at the start.

Chris Woods had to retire after his wheel bearings went AWOL.

The next thing we know is that his dad Keith Woods is also out of the race. I think he has engine problems.

Now 33 minutes have passed.

Karlos is down to 11th. He too is out of the race. He hit a bundle of tyres hard and this has resulted in him bending one of the stub axles.

On lap 54, Dave Marshall got the fastest lap of 42.21.

Just before the race finished Simon Craig retires for the night.

So in the end there were a total of 9 adults out of the 15 that started the race who took the chequered flag and finished the race!

Race 2

Starting off in a reversed grid:
Pole - Asbos
2nd - Chris Woods
3rd - Keith Woods

12 adults are racing in race 2 of the adult's races. 4 of them have chickened out!

Anyway, getting back to the matter in hand. Keith Woods shoots up to 1st place. Dropping Asbos down to 2nd, 2.51 seconds behind.

A bit later, Dave Marshall takes over Asbos to get to 2nd place, dropping Asbos down to 3rd.

Asbos are slowly dropping down the table.

On lap 7, Dave Marshall got a new fastest lap of 42.41.

Then on lap 20 he beats it again with a 42.36.

21 minutes have now passed. Karlos has been forced to retire after being taken out again (the same thing happened last month) by those who take this racing way too seriously!
Most of these guys out there do this for fun, as a hobby, and do not take it seriously! We want it to be fair for everyone and for everyone to have fun. But there are a select few that spoil it for others!

Anyway back to the racing, on lap 34 Dave got the final fastest lap of 42.03.

Only 25 minutes have gone, but Colin has been forced to retire after only having 3 wheels left on his kart! He told me that he went over a kerb, which you are not supposed to do and it snapped his wheel right off! He reckons that was a driver error.
