| Friday 3rd August 2007 Adults 45 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 Shown below is the grid starting positions, they are in reversed order from race 2, last month, July: Pole - Big John Tonight we have 15 adults racing altogether. On the first lap there was a pile up down on the bottom corner. It involved Dave Marshall, Fred Hornigold, Pete Rodgers and Steve Aldridge. I think Fred spun and basically the other 3 piled straight in to him. They must have been close behind him because they didn't even have time to try and avoid him. Colin Powley went around the outside of all of them. Anyway Pete Rodgers is out of the race. He has pushed his kart on to the grass, taken his helmet off and is now walking back this way. It turns out that he has actually done a hell of a lot of damage to his kart and it is definitely beyond repair for tonight! New guy Chris Dye is off on the dirt, dirt tracking down the bottom end of the track. Steve Aldridge is in the square. He must have done some damage to his kart during the incident he was involved in on lap one. Lap 4 and Dave Marshall got the fastest lap of 39.56. Anyway Charlie Cook is now leading. On lap 5, Docky shot up in to the lead. Dropping Charlie Cook down to 2nd place and at the minute he is managing to keep it there. Another new guy joining us tonight - Rob Sore. At the minute he is doing very well and is up there in 2nd place. Charlie Cook is down in 3rd now, 0.46 of a second behind. Simon Craig is in 4th place, 1.85 seconds behind Charlie. Simon is now stuck behind backmarker Fred at the minute. On lap 7, Dave Marshall got another new fastest lap of 39.34. He has also now made his way up to 6th place from somewhere down the bottom end of the field. Now 11 minutes have passed. Simon Craig is up to 2nd place. Dave has moved up one place to 5th. Richard Clouting is now in 6th place. Asbos Andy Bransby is in 7th place. Colin is up in to 8th place from starting way back in 15th place. 13 minutes gone. Steve Aldridge has just rejoined the race again. Docky is still leading. He has a huge 9.77 second lead over now 2nd place driver Dave Marshall. Keep up the good work Docky! On lap 16, Dave got another new fastest lap of 39.16. Colin has moved up one place to 7th. Rob Sore has dropped down to 11th place. But I
think he is in the square at the moment with a problem. He started off so well too. Dave is now leading. Docky has dropped down to 2nd place, 2.06 seconds behind. Richard is up to 5th place now, 3.67 seconds behind 4th place. All the drivers are lots of seconds behind each other. No one at the minute is close together at all! There are 10 minutes of the race left. Steven Knowles is in 9th place, and only 0.69 of a second behind 8th place Fred. But about a minute has now passed and Steven has dropped back and is now 6.42 seconds behind Fred. Now there is only 3 minutes to go. Fred has caught up to 7th place Colin and Fred is now only 0.33 of a second behind him. Results for Race 1 ……………………………………………………………………………............................. Race 2 The grid positions shown below are in reverse order from race one earlier this evening: We have 12 adults competing in this second race. For this race they are going to be racing around the track backwards. Anyway the race got off to a hairy start. New guy Chris Dye crashed on the first lap. Docky has shot up from 11th place, straight in to the lead. Steve Aldridge is up to 2nd place. Steven Knowles is up one place from 4th in to 3rd. 8 minutes have now gone. Colin and Asbos Steve had a bit of a coming together on the top corner. I think Steve spun first and Colin must have spun to avoid hitting in to him. Something happened to Richard and he is out in the square playing around with his kart. 4 minutes later - Steve Aldridge is up to 1st place; 4 seconds ahead of now 2nd place Dave Marshall. Docky is now down to 3rd, 11.38 seconds behind 2nd place. I think Dave Marshall might have taken him out. How rude! 30 minutes have now passed. The top 3 positions remain the same. Simon Craig is in 4th place. Charlie Cook has moved up to 5th place. Fred has moved up to 6th place. Colin is in 7th place, 0.30 of a second behind 6th place. He was originally in 8th place for a while. Steven Knowles is in 8th place. 9th place is Big John. In 10th is Asbos Steve Bransby. In 11th place is newcomer Chris Dye and he is doing very well in this 2nd race. In 12th place and laps behind is Richard Clouting. Now there are only 8 minutes to go. New guy Chris has retired early. He has had some problems. One of his chains fell off on the first lap and now one of the engines keeps spluttering. So lets hope he can get it fixed for next month.
