| Friday 17th August 2007 2hr ProKart Endurance Tonight we started off with 15 minutes qualifying, below is where each team qualified and their fastest qualifying laptimes: Pole - Dan + Sean - 42.90 A.K.C and Charlie did qualify as you can see above, but they always start at the back of the grid and tonight was no different from the rest. We have a grand total of 9 teams competing with us tonight. They are racing around the track backwards tonight. I love it because it is so exciting! Anyway Dan from team Dan + Sean got off to a fast start from his pole position start
place. At the minute Dan and Ben are nearly ten seconds ahead of 3rd and 4th places. There is 0.94 of a second between the two of them. 7 minutes have now gone. Dan is pulling away from Ben a little bit. Rookies David is up in to 3rd place from starting in 5th. Charlie has moved up to 4th place from starting in 8th place. A.K.C's Colin is now in 5th place from starting in 9th place. Colin has Sam Smith racing with him tonight because Sam's normal team mates have failed to turn up! Dan got the new fastest lap of 42.51. Asbos Steve is down in 6th place. N + M Racing are down one place from 6th now in 7th. Team Dragon are up one place from 9th in to 8th. Big John has gone from 7th down to 9th but he has probably already done 6 pit stops, and left the last stop for a fuel up later on in the race. 30 minutes have gone by. The guy in kart number 5 obviously hasn't done Karting before as he is all over the shot! I have lost count of how many people he has knocked off and done damage to their karts! Sam Smith has just come poodling along in to the pit lane he has a problem. The whole of the kart appears to be shaking/vibrating! It turns out that the guy in number 5 hit Sam and it has bent the back axle, which is why it is vibrating. But the good news is they have straightened it as best as they can and are now back out on the track competing again. Team Dragon are also in the pits. Now 37 minutes have gone. Dan + Sean are still in 1st place. Bad Lads are still in 2nd place. Rookies have made their way up to 3rd. Asbos are now up to 4th place. Rookies and Asbos are fairly close together at this point in time. Going back to Team Dragon, it has been an expensive race for team manager Kevin. Before the race started and during practice time he had to buy two new clutches, as his old ones were knackered! Now he has bent metal track rods and a bent stub axle. But at least they are still racing round the track and getting their moneys worth! On lap 54, Dan got a new fastest lap of 42.50. 1hr has now gone, Dan + Sean are still leading. Bad Lads are in 2nd. Asbos have got past Rookies for 3rd place. Rookies are now down to 4th. Charlie is in 5th. Big John in 6th. N + M Racing are in 7th. A.K.C are in 8th. Team Dragon are bringing up the rear in 9th. 1hr and 9 minutes have passed. Ben from Bad Lads is in the pits. It turns out that one of the throttle link springs had broken and this was making the throttle go only half speed, which isn't any good! They got it fixed and rejoined the race at the 1hr and 19 minute mark, in 8th place. Now 1hr and 30 minutes have gone. Dan + Sean are still in 1st. Rookies have moved up to 2nd place. Asbos up to 3rd. Charlie up to 4th. Big John is steaming up the field and is now up in to 5th place. Look at him go! A.K.C are up in to 6th, despite having a bent axle but at least it is driveable! Now we have 13 minutes to go. The positions remain the same. There is not much happening at the minute out there. All I can say is that it is getting dark! Now we have 2 minutes to go. Bad Lads are up in to 7th place. N + M Racing are down to 8th place. Team Dragon are still holding 9th place. Results |
