| Friday 6th April 2007 Adults 45 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 Pole - Charlie Cook Well we have 13 adults starting the race. Keith Woods shot off from his 2nd place start position straight in to 1st place. Just after the race had started, on lap one, Chris Woods got stuffed under a bunch of tyres. This lost him a bit of valuable time. Pete Rodgers just made one lap and skidded off on to the grass. I think he was having trouble with his chains. Simon Craig didn't even make one lap! He got shunted very hard up the backside, which has done something to his axle, and now it won't even move! So he has taken a hammer to it, to whack it with! Dave Marshall is up to 2nd from starting at the rear. 16 minutes have gone. Charlie Haller is up to 2nd, 7.76 seconds behind 1st. Docky is up in to 3rd, 0.69 of a second behind. Dave Marshall has suddenly gone down to 4th place, 0.83 of a second behind. We have 2 newish drivers racing with us tonight. Karlos and Big John. Big John has been coming to watch ProKarts for a long while now and now he has the bug and has bought his own. So tonight he is racing it for the first time. He isn't bothered about where he finishes. He is just in it for the fun! Anyway Karlos is currently in 8th place. Big John is currently in 11th place. On lap 21 Chris Woods got the new fastest lap of 45.61. There is 14 minutes of the race left. The top 3 positions remain the same. Tonight they are racing the twisty 800-metre track. Asbos Andy Bransby is in 7th place; 17.11 seconds behind 6th place Colin. By now the backmarkers have been lapped a couple of times by the race leader and other top drivers. Only 1 minute to go. Hang on, Asbos Andy has just suddenly dropped right down to 11th place. What happened there? I don't know! Results ............................. Race 2 Starting off in a reversed grid from race ones finishing positions. Asbos Andy shot off to a fast start from his pole position starting place. Richard Clouting has shifted up to 2nd place already. Someone is sending sparks flying as they go flying down the straight. Chris Woods has quickly made his way up to 2nd place. He certainly didn't waste any
time! We have 9 competing in this 2nd race. Big John and Charlie Cook are having their own little battle, amongst themselves, at the rear of the field. Charlie Haller somehow just got stuck in a bundle of tyres. I think he tried to get by someone when there was a gap there and then they must have shut the door on him and his only option was to go in the tyres. Charlie's mishap gave Karlos a chance to gain a place upwards. Now Charlie is trying hard to get that place back. On lap 8, Charlie gets by Karlos for 7th place, dropping Karlos back down to 8th place. On lap 16, Dave Marshall got a new fastest lap of 45.52. Big John and Charlie Cook keep swapping 9th and 10th places. Chris Woods is in 2nd, 0.24 of a second behind 1st place Dave. Chris's dad Keith Woods is in 3rd, 11.41 seconds behind his son. 18 minutes have now passed. Colin Powley is in the pits. He has switched his engines off and it looks like he has finished racing for tonight. He said something about his kart only grips at certain times and at certain parts on the circuit. I think this has puzzled him a bit. On lap 49, Chris Woods got a new fastest lap of 45.43. The top 3 positions still remain the same. Charlie Haller is in 4th, 3.94 seconds behind 3rd place. Richard Clouting is in 5th, 1.73 seconds behind 4th place. Asbos Andy is in 6th, 19.46 seconds behind. Karlos is in 7th place, 47.12 seconds behind 6th place. Only 3 minutes left and it is getting very close between the top two, 1st and 2nd, Dave and Chris. Results |
