| Sunday 19th August 2007 1hr Thunder League Pole - Boomerang 2nd - Total Chaos 3rd - Thomas Cook 4th - Bluff + Blunders 5th - Terrible Twos 6th - Shake N Bake 7th - Anglo-Italian Racing 8th - Little + Large 9th - Odd Bods Bluff + Blunders Duncan is racing solo, by himself today as he hasn't got any team mates willing to race in this wet weather. He should be able to do an hour by himself easily in this type of weather though and he will still have to come in to do his pit stops. During the ten minutes practice, Odd Bods were the fastest team, They got the fastest practice laptime of 1.08.81. This team consists of two men, Colin Powley and Pete Rodgers. They are only competing in this one as a bit of fun because this morning it is their type of weather - wet! They love it! We have 7 teams competing this morning. There should have been 9 teams competing this morning but Shake N Bake and Anglo-Italian Racing failed to turn up. They are probably hungover! Anyway enough chit chat lets get back to the race. Ron from Terrible Twos spun on the first corner, on lap one. Jed from Total Chaos gave Colin from Odd Bods a nudge on purpose going down the
straight, which sent Colin flying off on to the grass, narrowly missing the tyre wall! On lap 3, Odd Bods Colin is up in to 2nd place. He has just literally flown by Jed whose currently resting in 4th place and past 3rd place Boomerang. Only 6 minutes have passed. Thomas Cook have already done two pit stops. Now 7 and a half minutes have passed. Jed from Total Chaos is finding it very hard to keep it on the track! He was in 4th place but is now down in 5th place as Tom from Thomas Cook just overtook him! 2 minutes later and Odd Bods Colin is now closer than ever to Duncan. Colin is now only 3.18 seconds behind him. It seems that Duncan is doing much better today as he hasn't got any team mates to lose his lead for him! 14 minutes have now passed. Bluff + Blunders are still in 1st place. Thomas Cook are in 2nd place, 0.56 of a second behind 1st. 4 minutes later and Thomas Cook have taken the lead. Bluff + Blunders are now down to 2nd, 2.54 seconds behind. On lap 15, Thomas Cook got the fastest lap of 1.05.87. 20 minutes have now passed. Odd Bods Pete has somehow managed to acquire a puncture! This little incident obviously loses them some precious time and positions. Good job they are not fighting for league positions on the leaderboard! The top 5 teams are currently all on the same leading lap. However 6th place is 1 lap behind the leader and 7th place is 2 laps behind the leader. Now 30 minutes have passed. There is half an hour of the race left. It is raining harder then ever now. This means that the laptimes won't be getting any faster they are now getting slower! Charlie Cook has just had a little spin up on the top corner. I don't know whether his team mate Tom saw it or not! We are now nearing the end of the race. There are 46 minutes left. Thomas cook still hold the lead. Bluff + Blunders are close behind in 2nd. 3rd place is Odd Bods. In 4th we have Total Chaos. 5th is Boomerang. 6th is Little + Large. Bringing up the rear in 7th place is team Terrible Twos. On lap 45 Bluff + Blunders Duncan got the final fastest lap of 1.04.60. And now the race has finished. Duncan managed to pinch the lead from Thomas Cook and he
took the chequered flag with a 29.46 second lead over 2nd place. |
