| Friday 2nd March 2007 Kids 30 minute solo ProKart Race Race 1 Pole - Nathan Reed Tonight we had 8 kids racing altogether in race one. Nathan started off on pole. Ben Cook was following him when Nathan spun down on the bottom corner and Ben had nowhere else to go other than off on to the grass to avoid hitting Nathan. So this put these two at the back of the field. Daniel Bowman started off in 2nd place and is now up to 1st place, holding his position well. On lap 3, Bowman drops down to 6th and Smiffy takes the lead. Daniel Powley is up to 2nd, 0.14 of a second behind. Sean Haller is following behind Daniel in 3rd, 0.84 of a second behind 2nd place. Matt Spragg is up to 4th from starting in 6th. Nick Manias is in 5th, down one place as he originally started off in 4th. Only 6 minutes have gone and already so much has happened! Nathan Reed is down in 7th and Ben Cook is in 8th. Ben is only 0.37 of a second behind Nathan. So Ben could steal 7th place from Nathan. Daniel Powley has now taken the lead. Sean followed him through to get in to 2nd place, 0.17 of a second behind. Spraggy is now up to 3rd, dropping Smiffy down to 4th, 0.72 of a second behind. Daniel Powley and Sean Haller are the only two to be lapping in the 39 seconds. Nathan and Ben are now catching up to the other faster drivers. They are right behind 6th place driver Daniel Bowman. Backmarkers 6th, 7th and 8th places have just been lapped by 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. 25 minutes have now passed. Dan and Sean are battling for 1st and 2nd places. At the minute, Dan is still holding 1st place and Sean is in 2nd, exactly 1 second behind Dan. On lap 37, Sean got a new faster lap of 39.58. I'm guessing that he is now nailing the throttle because he wants to get by his mate, Dan who is still in 1st place. Smiffy is now back up in to 3rd. Spraggy is down to 4th, 11.09 seconds behind. He has 2 minutes of the race left to try and gain one more place. Can he do it? On lap 44, the last lap, Sean got the final fastest lap of 39.57. Results - Race 1 ……………………………………………………………………………............................. Race 2 They are starting in a reversed grid format from where they finished earlier tonight in race one. Pole - Ben Cook Ben Cook away to a smooth, fast start from his pole position starting place. On lap 2, Nathan Reed let the faster drivers by him. This was a good choice, because now he can follow them and their lines and he might learn something extra from them. 4 minutes have passed. Matt is up to 1st. Ben is now in 2nd, 0.90 of a second behind. Ben suddenly drops down to 3rd. Don't know what happened there! Smiffy has now moved up to 2nd. Hot shots Daniel Powley and Sean Haller are now up to 3rd and 4th, from starting in 8th and 7th places. On lap 17, Sean got the fastest lap of 39.46. The top 4 drivers are now all in the 39 seconds. Matt Spragg is still in 1st. Daniel Powley in 2nd, 0.21 of a second behind. Sean is in 3rd, 1.15 seconds behind and Smiffy is down in 4th, 0.22 of a second behind. 15 minutes have passed. Daniel Powley has bounded his way in to 1st. Sean followed him
by them and is now relaxing in 2nd, 0.16 of a second behind. This has knocked Spraggy down
to 3rd, 0.19 of a second behind and Smiffy down to 4th, 0.41 of a second behind. Only 2 minutes of the race to go. Sean is in the lead. Daniel Powley in 2nd, 1.39 seconds behind. So who's going to take the chequered flag? Results - Race 2 |
