Round 2 of the winter series

Race 1 of 2

Kids
Pole - Ashley Hornigold
2nd - Daniel Bowman
3rd - Ben Cook

Adults
Pole - Steven Knowles
2nd - Andy Bransby
3rd - Simon Craig

Tonight we have decided to race the kids and adults together. So instead a total of 4 races, we will have a total of 2 altogether.

7 kids competing and 12 adults, giving us a total of 19 competitors competing.

They started in two different places. The adults started on the normal grid and the kids started on the little tracks grid.

Steven Knowles is leading; off to a good start from his pole position start place.

Steve Futter is up to 2nd from starting in 5th, after just doing 3 laps.

On lap 11, kid racer Sean Haller got the overall fastest lap of 51.97.

There are a lot of drivers out there spinning and finding it hard to stay on the track. I'm not sure whose worse, the kids or the adults!

After doing just 16 laps, Chris Harfield has retired. He got hit twice and has done some damage to himself and the kart.

On lap 20, Colin Powley got a new overall fastest lap of 51.92.

28 minutes have now gone. Colin has taken the lead. But like always him and Charlie Haller are fighting for 1st place, so they are swapping positions every so often.

Ben Cook is holding up in 5th place in the kid's results. He is getting much better and is growing in confidence with each race he competes in. Keep up the good work Ben.

35 minutes have now passed us. Sean Haller has put in a new flying overall fastest lap with a 51.69 done on lap 38.

Steve Futter is in 3rd now, with Richard Clouting behind him in 3rd.

On lap 51, Sean got another fastest lap this time with a 51.30.

Race 2 of 2

Starting in a reversed grid from race ones results:

Kids
Pole - Ben Cook
2nd - Daniel Bowman
3rd - Matt Spragg

Adults
Pole - Simon Craig
2nd - Steven Knowles
3rd - Andy Bransby

From the adults side Nick Rodgers shot off to a good start. He got up in to 1st after doing only 3 laps, and from starting in 4th place.

14 minutes have passed. Daniel Powley has retired from the race. He says his 'engines are knackered'.

Half an hour has passed; we have 12 people left in the race. The other 5 have given up.

Father and son, Charlie and Sean Haller are holding 1st and 2nd places overall.

Charlie's mate Colin is in 3rd overall.

On lap 36, Sean puts in the fastest overall lap with a 50.62.

Charlie, Colin and Sean are the only three to be lapping in the 50 seconds. The rest are in the 51, 52, 53 and 54 seconds.

Only 4 minutes of the 45-minute race left. The kids are doing very well in managing to last 45 minutes as they are only normally used to doing 30 minutes.

About 3 or 4 minutes from the end, Colin takes the lead. Sean is demoted to 2nd place, 0.53 of a second behind and Charlie in 3rd, 5.36 seconds behind 2nd place.

Charlie got the overall fastest lap right at the end of the race, on lap 48, with a 50.60.

Chris Woods moved up to the adults tonight, and he has proved to do well despite it being his first race with them.
