| Friday 16th February 2007 2hr ProKart Endurance We have a total of 8 teams racing tonight. Pole - Cookie Crew Charlie + Colin are actually doing a 2hr solo each tonight. They are using their own 2 karts but they will be swapping karts every 15 minutes, whereas at the 15 minute mark everyone else will be swapping drivers. So they will be driving an hour in each kart. By the end of the 2hr race they are going to be knackered and they will most definitely ache in morning. However, going back to the point that they are racing 2 karts, only Charlie's kart, number 5, will be scoring points wherever it finishes as this is the kart they normally race the 2hr endurance in together. Ben Cook from team Cookie Crew got off to a fast start from starting in pole position. He is very brave to have wanted to start the race. I bet he was petrified but he needn't have worried because he is flying and they are all lagging behind him! Bad Lads Steve Futter, heavyweight, is up to 2nd from starting in 3rd. He is currently 1.69 seconds behind little Ben. Rookies David is up to 3rd from starting in 4th. 4 and a half minutes have passed. Sean from team Sean + Dan is up to 2nd from 6th
place. Just 8 minutes have passed. All of the 8 teams are on the same leading lap. There is only about 2 or 3 seconds between each team, so it is very close. The drivers must all be waiting for the team in front to make a mistake. Exciting! On lap 13, Sean takes the lead from little Ben. 11 minutes have gone. Boys Toys Sam has crept up and has now overtaken little Ben for 2nd place. This has proceeded to drop Ben down to 3rd. 2 minutes later. Charlie Haller who is currently racing in his kart has now got up to 4th place from starting back in 7th place. His mate Colin Powley who is racing in his own kart is behind Charlie in 5th place, from starting in 8th, last place. Now 15 minutes have gone by. Just before Sean did a pit stop, Sam Smith from Boys Toys overtook Sean to get to 1st place. On lap 20, Smiffy got a new fastest lap of 32.43. 20 minutes have gone. Team Rookies are in the square with a problem. They soon fixed it and rejoined the race again a little while later. Boys Toys did a pit stop, Docky hopped in to the kart. I think his engines must of cut out, but whatever happened he did an 11 second lap. This 11 second lap gave him an extra lap and put him in the lead. So that has mucked my leaderboard up. Luckily I always have a second computer running for the ProKart races so the results will now go by computer number 2 as the times and results on that one are correct! On lap 90, Sean + Dan matched Smiffy's fastest lap of 32.43. 1hr and 11 minutes have passed. Sean + Dan are in 1st. Bad Lads Steve is in 2nd, 2 laps down. Boys Toys are in 3rd. Cookie Crew are still maintaining 4th place. On lap 109 Boys Toys put in a new fastest lap of 32.28. 36 minutes of the race left. By this time everyone has done their pit stops and the positions are roughly the same. 3 minutes later, Boys Toys are up in to 2nd, 1 lap and 14.75 seconds behind 1st. Only 20 minutes to go. Cookie Crew are out of the race due to clutch failure. One of the clutches has gone wrong! Results |
