| Friday 1st December 2006 Kids 30 minute solo ProKart Race Round 1 of the winter series Race 1 of 2 Pole - Daniel Bowman Well for the first round of the winter ProKart series, it is raining! And the track is very wet. It has been raining on and off all day and then as soon as the ProKarters start turning up, the heavens open and it don't show any sign off letting off, not even a little bit! Matt Spragg off to a nice, smooth start. He started off in 2nd and is now up to 1st. Ben Cook from team Cookies Crew is up to 2nd, 2.14 seconds behind 1st place. He started off in 3rd, so he has gained a place. Daniel Powley is behind Ben, in 3rd place, right up his back bumper, 0.23 of a second behind him. 9 minutes have passed. Daniel Powley is now in the lead, 0.57 of a second ahead. Matt Spragg has now dropped to 3rd, but he is doing well and managing to keep there for the minute. Sam Smith is in 4th, 0.24 of a second behind Matt. So if Matt makes one mistake, Sam could gain a place. Anyway, tonight we have 7 kids competing in all. 13 minutes of the race left. Ashley Hornigold has been in 7th place all along, and he is still there now. But he spun out early on in the race and he is now about a lap down on all the others. Now 10 minutes to go. Sam Smith has stole 3rd place, dropping Matt to 4th, 0.78 of a second behind Sam. Ben Cook has overtaken Daniel Bowman to move up to 5th place, dropping Daniel to 6th, 1.97 seconds behind. Fastest lap by Daniel Powley with a 46.00 dead, done on lap 26. 3 minutes to go. The bottom positions haven't changed. But 1st and 2nd places have. Sean Haller is now in 1st. Daniel Powley is in 2nd, 0.22 of a second behind. Sean Haller took the chequered flag, 1.63 seconds ahead. All the rest held the same positions as stated earlier. Well done Lads. Results - Race 1 1. Sean Haller …………………………………………………………………………................................. Race 2 of 2 Starting positions in this race are in reverse from the kid's race, race one, done earlier this evening. Pole - Ashley Hornigold We only had 6 kids start this race. Ashley didn't make it to the start, but he might join in later on when they have fixed the kart. I heard they got a puncture and are trying to fix it. Matt Spragg off to another good start. Daniel Powley soon moves up the field from starting in 6th to 1st place. Fastest lap by Daniel Powley, with a 45.78 done on lap 6. Sam Smith is up in to 2nd, 3.88 seconds behind. Daniel Bowman has dropped from starting in 2nd, down to 6th because he hit Ben Cook, as Ben spun and Daniel had nowhere to go. This has made his front plastic bumper scrape on the ground so he has just stopped to try and lift it off the ground using his muscles! Ashley does eventually start the race but he soon goes out of the race again because there is something wrong with his kart, again! Another new fastest lap by Daniel Powley, this time with a 45.51 done on lap 9. Then later on he beats it again with a 45.40 done on lap 25. Only 3 minutes to go. Daniel Powley is still in 1st, 10.87 seconds ahead of 2nd place Sean Haller. In 3rd, Sam Smith, 13.78 seconds behind 2nd place. The top 4 all finished in the lead lap, lap 39. Results - Race 2 1.
