Round 1 of the winter series

Tonight we started off with 10 minutes qualifying.

This is where the 6 teams competing qualified:
Pole - Sean + Dan with the overall fastest qualifying lap of 27.45
2nd - Bad Lads - with their fastest lap of 27.49
3rd - Boys Toys - with their fastest lap of 27.79
4th - Rookies - with their fastest lap of 27.89
5th - Saga Tours - with their fastest lap of 28.74
6th - Charlie + Colin - with their fastest lap of 28.83

It is a bit cold tonight, could be a slight frost in the morning, but at least it isn't raining!

As there is only 6 teams racing, they are racing the short track, 625 metres long.

Daniel Powley from team Sean + Dan got off to a smooth and fast start.

Karlos from Bad Lads is maintaining his 2nd place start position. He got the first fastest lap of 27.64 on lap 2. He is currently 1.09 seconds behind 1st place Daniel.
This should be a very close race!

In 3rd place, still holding their 3rd place start position, is team Boys Toys. They are 4.19 seconds behind 2nd place.

On lap 16, Daniel got a new fastest lap, 27.21.

Later on in the race, on lap 51, Daniel's team mate Sean beat it with a 27.08.

53 minutes have now gone. Sean + Dan are still leading. Bad Lads are still in 2nd, 0.60 of a second behind. Very close.

Karlos from Bad Lads has a team mate this month, Steve Futter. Steve couldn't race last month, as it was his wife's birthday.

Charlie + Colin are up to 3rd, from 6th, 13.12 seconds down on 2nd place.

Now with 59 minutes gone. Bad Lads Steve takes the lead.

Only 34 minutes left. Charlie + Colin have pinched the lead. Sean + Dan are in 2nd now, but they have just done their fuel stop, so once everyone has done theirs it should go back to how it was. Anyway they are now 1 lap and 11.70 seconds behind 1st.

Bad Lads are in 3rd, 1.30 seconds behind 2nd.

Charlie + Colin have still got to do their fuel stop so I don't think they will manage to hold the lead.

Bad Lads have just done their fuel stop.

26 minutes left. Sean + Dan are back into 1st. Bad Lads in to 2nd, on the same lead lap, 9.15 seconds behind 1st.

Only 24 minutes left. Everyone has now done their fuel stops. So everything should work out right now.

Every team fastest laps are in the 27 seconds, except for one team, team Saga Tours, they are in the 28 seconds, but they are not much slower!

The last 15 minutes are vital. They have to do their pit stop at the right time.
